The body of Deepak Paswan (35), a resident of Sarmastpur Maripur, was recovered on Tuesday evening from Machhahi Chaur in the Sakra police station area of Muzaffarpur district. Deepak had been missing since Monday, prompting his family to search for him. Upon receiving information, Sakra police arrived at the scene, took custody of the body, and began investigations.

Family members informed the police that Deepak frequently visited Machhahi Chaur for drug consumption. He worked at a sawmill, cutting wood. Villagers are speculating that the youth was murdered and his body dumped in the chaur. Some have also expressed apprehension that acid might have been poured on the body to destroy evidence.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer (East-2 Sakra) Manoj Kumar Singh confirmed the incident, stating that the youth's body has been sent for post-mortem examination. He added that further legal action would be taken upon receiving an application from the family. Police are thoroughly investigating the matter.
