In a shocking incident in Muzaffarpur, a woman was allegedly duped of her gold bangles by two fraudsters who posed as police officers. The incident occurred near Chandralok Cinema in Saraiyaganj, within the Nagar police station area. The victim, a resident of Saraiyaganj, was returning from her daughter's house when she was intercepted by two unknown individuals.

The imposters claimed to be police officers and instilled fear in the woman by stating that there had been a surge in theft incidents in the area, necessitating a police investigation. They advised her to put her valuable items, specifically her gold bangles, into an envelope for safekeeping until she reached home. Falling for their ploy, the woman handed over her gold bangles. The fraudsters cleverly placed the bangles into an envelope, then returned it to her, instructing her to take it home.

Upon reaching home and opening the envelope, the woman was horrified to find that her gold bangles were missing, replaced by mere pieces of paper. She immediately lodged a complaint at the Nagar police station. The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) and have initiated an investigation. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify and apprehend the culprits. The police have also issued a public advisory, urging citizens to be vigilant against such fraudsters and to report any suspicious activities immediately.
