The Railway Protection Force (RPF) seized a total of 23.475 liters of illicit liquor from two unclaimed backpacks at Nabinagar Railway Station on Saturday. The estimated value of the seized liquor, found on the Garhwa Road-Sonnagar railway section, is reported to be Rs 10,655. The RPF has handed over the confiscated liquor to the Government Railway Police (GRP) Sonnagar for further action.

Under the leadership of RPF Sub-Inspector Jai Prakash Prasad, constables Rakesh Kumar and Mohammad Nazim Khan were conducting routine checks at the station. During their inspection, a blue backpack was found in an unclaimed state in coach number EC-0944725 of train number 53611 Up. Upon searching the bag, 58 bottles of 200 ml 'Chhabili Desi Sharab' and 17 bottles of 'Royal Jharkhand Deluxe Desi Sharab' were recovered.

Additionally, from another black and grey backpack, 13 bottles of 375 ml 'Royal Stand Whisky' and 20 bottles of 180 ml '08 PM Whisky' were found. The RPF has initiated an investigation to identify the person transporting the liquor by rail and to probe other related aspects of the case.
