Three young men, including two brothers, died in a horrific road accident in Harnaut, Nalanda, late Tuesday night, while two others sustained serious injuries. All five friends were riding on a single motorcycle when the incident occurred. The injured are currently in critical condition at Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital.

The deceased have been identified as 19-year-old Gautam Kumar from Sabnahuadih village and 15-year-old Abhimanyu alias Manu and 13-year-old Anish Kumar, sons of Pradeep Jaiswal from Harnaut Adarsh Nagar. Abhimanyu and Anish were siblings. The accident has plunged both families into deep mourning. The injured are 14-year-old Amit Kumar and Ravi Kumar, both residents of Harnaut.

Injured Amit Kumar recounted that they were heading to the market on a single bike, with Gautam driving, when a dog suddenly appeared near Pillar Number 51. In an attempt to avoid the dog, Gautam swerved, but due to high speed, he lost control, and the bike crashed into a divider. The impact was so severe that all five friends were thrown off the bike and lost consciousness. None of them were wearing helmets, resulting in severe head injuries.

According to Gautam's nephew, Guddu, the group had gone out for a ride around 10 PM after lighting firecrackers. About 30 minutes later, they received news of the accident. Relatives rushed to Kalyan Bigha Referral Hospital, where doctors declared Gautam and Abhimanyu dead. Anish, Amit, and Ravi were referred to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital after first aid, where Anish also succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Gautam worked at the grocery store owned by Abhimanyu and Anish's father in Harnaut market, fostering a close friendship among them. Harnaut Station House Officer Mukesh Kumar Verma stated that the police have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital and are investigating the matter. Further legal action will be taken upon receiving an application from the families.
