A two-day national seminar on Circular and Hydrogen Economy commenced on Friday at SSV College, Kahalgaon. Organized by the Department of Chemistry in collaboration with the Indian Chemical Society, Kolkata, the seminar was inaugurated by Professor R.N.P. Singh, President of the Indian Chemical Society and former Vice-Chancellor of Patna University. In his inaugural address, Prof. Singh emphasized the critical need for circular and hydrogen economies in today's world for environmental protection and sustainable development.

He highlighted hydrogen as the fuel of the future, capable of reducing pollution, and encouraged students and researchers to pursue studies in this field. Experts and scientists from various universities and research institutions are participating in the seminar. The first day featured several technical sessions where experts presented their insights on various aspects of the circular economy, including waste management, recycling, and efficient resource utilization.

Intensive discussions also took place on the hydrogen economy, focusing on the challenges and opportunities in hydrogen production, storage, and utilization. Speakers stressed the potential for hydrogen production from renewable energy sources. Dr. Mrityunjay Kumar Singh, the organizing secretary, stated that the seminar aims to familiarize students, researchers, and faculty with the latest trends and technologies in circular and hydrogen economies, anticipating its significant role in developing eco-friendly technologies.
