A prisoner managed to escape from Nawada Sadar Hospital, giving police the slip on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred while the inmate, identified as Nitish Kumar from Akouna village under Govindpur police station, was brought to the hospital for treatment. Kumar had been jailed on charges of theft.

According to police sources, Nitish Kumar was brought from Nawada Divisional Jail to Sadar Hospital for medical attention on Wednesday morning. During his treatment, he requested to use the restroom. While being escorted, he seized the opportunity to deceive the accompanying police personnel and fled the scene. The escape triggered an immediate alert within the police department, and a search operation was launched.

This incident has raised serious questions about the security arrangements at the hospital and the vigilance of the police. Such an escape is considered a significant security lapse. Following the incident, the Superintendent of Police has ordered the formation of a special team to apprehend the escaped prisoner.
