A teacher has been arrested in Nawada district, Bihar, in connection with an alleged embezzlement of ₹18 lakh. The case pertains to financial irregularities in the funds allocated for the construction of a primary school building. The arrested individual has been identified as Mohammad Mustafa, a teacher at the Primary School in Kochgaon, under the Warisaliganj police station area. He is accused of misusing government funds meant for school building construction for personal gain.

The alleged scam came to light during a departmental review of the construction progress, which revealed a significant discrepancy between the allocated funds and the actual work completed. Following an investigation that confirmed financial irregularities, education department officials lodged an FIR against Mustafa at Warisaliganj police station. Police had been searching for him since the complaint was filed.

The Superintendent of Police stated that a special team was formed to investigate the serious nature of the case. After raids at various locations, the accused teacher was finally apprehended based on confidential information. Police are now interrogating him to ascertain if other individuals were involved in the embezzlement and are investigating other aspects of the case. This incident highlights concerns about corruption in government schemes, prompting the education department to order a review of all pending construction projects to prevent future occurrences. The arrested teacher has been sent to judicial custody.
