A newborn baby died shortly after delivery at the Baijalpur Health Center in Asarganj block, Munger district. Following the incident, the baby's family has accused ANM Sarita Devi of severe negligence, alleging that the child died in the womb due to a lack of timely treatment and failure to refer the mother to another hospital when needed. They have demanded a thorough investigation and strict action against those found responsible.

The deceased baby's mother, Ruchi Kumari, is hearing and speech impaired. Her husband claimed that no doctor was present at the hospital during delivery, his wife did not receive timely medical attention, and despite the critical situation, she was not transferred to another facility. Another family member, Kanchan Devi, alleged that the delivery was performed directly on a bed instead of in the labor room. Deepa Devi stated that the baby was fine until 12 PM, but no check-ups were conducted afterward.

ANM Sarita Devi, however, has denied all allegations of negligence. Upon receiving information about the incident, Asarganj police SI Krishna Murari, PTC Jaswant Kumar, local public representatives, and villagers arrived at the health center and pacified the agitated family members.

Dr. Manisha of the hospital stated that she was not present when the patient arrived, as she was at the Community Health Center for some urgent work and had not been informed about the patient's arrival or condition via phone. Following the incident, villagers have demanded the availability of doctors at the hospital around the clock, proper treatment during delivery, and immediate referral of patients in emergencies. The family has reiterated their demand for an impartial investigation and action against the culprits.
