Hundreds of residents in Nokha expressed their anger over the severe drinking water crisis by protesting at the Sub-Divisional Office on Monday. Kanhaiyalal Jhanwar, chief of Vikas Manch, along with Municipal President Bajrang Soni and Vice President Narayan Jhanwar, submitted a memorandum to Sub-Divisional Officer Priya Bajaj.

The memorandum highlighted that 20 million litres of canal water are reserved for Nokha, but its supply has not commenced for months. Furthermore, the demand notice for the Bhamatsar pumping station has not yet been submitted. Kanhaiyalal Jhanwar emphasized that the people of Nokha have been forced to consume saline water for years, leading to an increase in diseases in the area. He demanded the immediate initiation of canal water supply.

Municipal Vice President Narayan Jhanwar warned that if the water problem is not resolved within one month, the municipal board and the public will launch a protest and indefinite hunger strike in front of the Sub-Divisional Office. Sub-Divisional Officer Priya Bajaj assured the protestors that she would discuss the matter with the District Collector and officials from the Public Health Engineering Department to find a speedy resolution.
