Police have arrested two individuals in connection with an attack and firing incident on a Prohibition Department team in Paliganj, Patna district. The incident occurred when the prohibition team was apprehending individuals consuming alcohol. According to reports, a group of anti-social elements attacked the team and opened fire in an attempt to free the detained individuals from police custody. Some members of the prohibition team sustained minor injuries during the assault.

Police sources indicate that the Prohibition Department team had gone to a locality in Paliganj based on a tip-off about alcohol consumption. After detaining some individuals, the team was returning when they were surrounded by a group of local residents, including relatives and friends of the arrested individuals. The group initially protested verbally before escalating to a physical assault. During the attack, some assailants fired crude weapons, causing panic in the area.

Following the attack, the prohibition team immediately informed the local police. Swift action by the police led to the arrest of two main accused. Interrogations are underway to identify other individuals involved in the incident, and raids are being conducted to apprehend those who are absconding.
