Serious allegations have surfaced regarding a demand for a ₹2.50 lakh bribe for a job through outsourcing at Patna AIIMS. The complainant, Ratan Kumar Rajak, has filed a written complaint at Phulwari Sharif police station, alleging that a recommendation letter and application issued by an MP for a gardener position were torn up. He further claims that when he protested, he was publicly subjected to casteist abuse and assault.

According to Ratan Kumar Rajak, he was seeking employment as a gardener (mali) at AIIMS Patna through an outsourcing agency called 'Sampoorna Company'. He stated that an MP had issued a recommendation letter addressed to the Director of AIIMS Patna on August 19, 2026. The complainant alleges that on September 11, around 6:30 PM, he went to AIIMS regarding his employment and the recommendation letter.

Rajak claims that a person from the AIIMS office called him to the Devi Mandir near the AIIMS Residence Area in Phulwari Sharif under the pretext of a discussion. There, the MP's recommendation letter and application form were allegedly snatched from his hand and torn. The complaint states that the accused then demanded ₹2.50 lakh for the job, threatening that he would not get the job if the money was not paid. He also accused the perpetrator of casteist abuse, assault, and pushing him away when he protested, along with threats of dire consequences if he complained.

Phulwari Sharif Police Station इंचार्ज Ghulam Shahbaz Alam confirmed receiving the complaint and stated that the police are investigating the entire matter. Legal action will be taken after the investigation is complete. Meanwhile, Ashish Mishra, Public Relations Officer of AIIMS, has dismissed the allegations as false and baseless. He denied the tearing of the MP's recommendation letter, stating that the letter is safely kept in the office. He assured that if the allegations are found to be true, AIIMS administration will form a team to investigate, and legal action will be taken against the concerned employee. A high-level meeting has also reportedly taken place within the AIIMS administration regarding this matter.
