Patna police have arrested Musheer Ahmed, a fraudster carrying a reward of Rs 25,000, for his alleged involvement in a multi-crore land scam. Ahmed faces a total of 12 criminal cases registered across various police stations in Patna, including Kotwali, Kadamkuan, and Naubatpur.

According to the police, Musheer Ahmed, originally from Siwan, had also resided in Patna's Kankarbagh area. Police received intelligence that he was hiding near Haridwar. Acting on this tip-off, a team from Kotwali Police Station conducted a raid and apprehended him in Patna. The accused had reportedly locked the house from the outside where he was hiding, to avoid suspicion. After investigation, the police team found and arrested him inside.

In connection with this case, the police had previously arrested Sudama Singh, an ex-serviceman, and sent him to judicial custody. It is alleged that Ahmed and his accomplices defrauded retired soldiers and other individuals of lakhs of rupees, ranging from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 80 lakh from different victims, under the pretext of investment and promising them land. However, the promised land was never delivered. Police estimate the total amount of fraud to be in crores. During the investigation, some jewelry has also been recovered. The police are now investigating other members of the gang and scrutinizing the financial transactions.
