In a brazen challenge to the police, criminals in Patna shot a property dealer, Shubham Kumar Yadav, four times on Tuesday night. The incident occurred while Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma was holding a crime meeting. Shubham, critically injured, has been admitted to a private hospital. The entire incident, which took place on Bhupatipur Jyotish Baba Road under Ramkrishna Nagar police station, was captured on CCTV.

The CCTV footage shows Shubham talking on his phone by the roadside outside his house. Two assailants on an Apache bike approach him and fire four shots in quick succession. After being shot, Shubham collapses to the ground in pain. The criminals then flee on their bike. Hearing the gunshots, locals rush out of their homes and immediately take Shubham to the hospital.

Adding to the shock, this major crime occurred simultaneously with a crucial crime meeting being conducted by Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma. The meeting included all sub-divisional officers and station house officers from Patna district, where strategies to curb crime were being discussed. Patna Sadar Police Sub-Divisional Officer-2 Ranjan Kumar confirmed the incident, stating that Shubham Kumar is undergoing treatment and the motive behind the shooting is currently under investigation. Police are exploring three different angles to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
