Two young lawyers from the Patna High Court were detained after being found intoxicated while arguing a case in court. The incident occurred at the Judge's Residence Complex in Chajjubag, under the Kotwali police station area. The intoxication came to light during a hearing before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) when a strong odor of alcohol was detected emanating from their mouths.

According to the police, these lawyers had arrived at the court to represent some of the protesters recently arrested following violent student demonstrations. As they began their arguments, individuals present in the courtroom, including the judge, noticed the strong smell of alcohol. The court immediately ordered an alcohol test for both lawyers. The tests confirmed that they had consumed alcohol.

Kotwali Police Station in-charge Ajay Kumar confirmed the incident, stating that after the alcohol consumption was confirmed, both lawyers were fined and subsequently released. This incident is considered a breach of the judiciary's dignity and has raised questions about the conduct of lawyers.
