Two youths sustained serious injuries in a road accident near Aambagan in Mannapara, close to the Bihar-Bengal border within the Pothia police station area of Kishanganj district on Friday. Local villagers immediately provided first aid to the injured and arranged for them to be transported to Islampur Hospital in West Bengal for better treatment.

Eyewitnesses reported that a motorcycle (number BR 37 AK 4036) was traveling at high speed. Near the Aambagan, the rider suddenly lost control, causing the bike to skid and fall onto the road. Both youths riding the motorcycle were thrown off and suffered severe injuries.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Pothia police arrived at the scene. They inspected the accident site and questioned local residents to ascertain the cause of the mishap. Preliminary information suggests that the accident occurred due to the vehicle losing control. The police are investigating all aspects of the case.

Local resident Mohammad Nazim stated that he saw the two youths lying injured by the roadside when he stepped out of his house. With the help of neighbors, he quickly arranged for a vehicle to take them to Islampur Hospital for treatment. According to Nazim, the injured youths were in considerable pain, and their condition appeared serious. Villagers believe the injured youths are residents of the Thakurganj area and belong to the tribal community. Their official identification had not been confirmed by late evening.
