A 38-year-old man, Santosh Sah, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his in-laws' house in Dobha village, Rupauli police station area, Purnea district. His body was discovered hanging from a rope, prompting the police to arrest three individuals in connection with the case. Those arrested include Santosh's wife, Reena Devi, his mother-in-law, Vimla Devi, and his wife's elder sister's husband, Bipin Sah. All three have been sent to judicial custody.

The incident came to light on Wednesday when Santosh's body was found in his in-laws' residence in Dobha village. The deceased's father, Anil Sah, a resident of Ajhokopa, filed a written complaint naming four individuals as accused. Rupauli Station House Officer (SHO) Abhay Ranjan stated that upon receiving the information, police immediately reached the scene, sent the body for post-mortem, and initiated an investigation.

Police detained Santosh's wife, mother-in-law, and Bipin Sah from the spot for questioning. While the accused denied involvement in the murder, the SHO reported that their statements were inconsistent. Initial investigation, including mobile call details, revealed multiple conversations between Reena Devi and Bipin Sah on the night of the incident. Police are thoroughly investigating the matter and awaiting the post-mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death.
