पूर्णिया में पिछले 24 घंटों के दौरान 59 मिमी बारिश दर्ज की गई है, जिससे मौसम में बड़ा बदलाव आया है। बंगाल की खाड़ी में बने निम्न दबाव के क्षेत्र और पश्चिम बंगाल व पूर्वी बिहार के ऊपर चक्रवाती परिसंचरण के कारण सोमवार देर रात से शुरू हुआ बारिश का सिलसिला मंगलवार को भी जारी रहा। मंगलवार दोपहर बाद से जिलेभर में रुक-रुक कर बारिश हो रही है।
पूर्णिया शहरी क्षेत्र में सर्वाधिक 59 मिमी बारिश हुई, जबकि जिले के अन्य प्रखंडों जैसे भवानीपुर में 58.4 मिमी, रूपौली में 47.2 मिमी, पूर्णिया पूर्व में 43 मिमी और केनगर में 42 मिमी वर्षा दर्ज की गई। धमदाहा में 28.4 मिमी, डगरूआ में 21.6 मिमी, बीकोठी में 17.6 मिमी, बनमनखी में 14.2 मिमी, कसबा में 13 मिमी और बायसी में 12.4 मिमी बारिश हुई।
बारिश के बावजूद तापमान में खास बदलाव नहीं आया है। मंगलवार को शहर का अधिकतम तापमान 32.8 डिग्री सेल्सियस और न्यूनतम तापमान 26.3 डिग्री सेल्सियस रहा। पूर्णिया मौसम केंद्र के वैज्ञानिक सहायक राकेश कुमार ने बताया कि मानसून की ट्रफ लाइन अभी झारखंड से गुजर रही है और बंगाल की खाड़ी में बने निम्न दबाव क्षेत्र के कारण लगातार नमी युक्त हवा आ रही है।
मौसम विभाग ने अगले 48 से 72 घंटों के दौरान एक बार फिर मध्यम से भारी बारिश की संभावना जताई है। गुरुवार और शुक्रवार को जिले के कई हिस्सों में मध्यम से भारी बारिश हो सकती है। इस बारिश से किसानों को काफी राहत मिली है।

The shift began on Monday night and continued through Tuesday, influenced by a low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal and a cyclonic circulation over West Bengal and East Bihar.
Rainfall has been intermittent across the district since Tuesday afternoon. While Purnia urban area received the highest at 59mm, other blocks also experienced substantial rain: Bhawanipur (58.4mm), Rupauli (47.2mm), Purnia East (43mm), and K. Nagar (42mm). Dhamdaha recorded 28.4mm, Dagrua 21.6mm, Bikothi 17.6mm, Banmankhi 14.2mm, Kasba 13mm, and Baisi 12.4mm.
Despite the rainfall, there has been no significant drop in temperature. On Tuesday, the city's maximum temperature was 32.8 degrees Celsius, and the minimum was 26.3 degrees Celsius. According to Rakesh Kumar, Scientific Assistant at Purnia Meteorological Center, the monsoon trough line is currently passing through Jharkhand, and the low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal is continuously bringing moisture-laden winds.
The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast for moderate to heavy rainfall over the next 48 to 72 hours, with Thursday and Friday expected to see significant downpours in several parts of the district. This rain is expected to provide considerable relief to farmers.
