Under the 'Nasha Mukt Bihar Abhiyan' (Drug-Free Bihar Campaign), the Prohibition Department team conducted a major raid with the help of drones in the Maranga police station area of Purnia district. During the operation, police recovered 36 liters of illegal Java liquor and 455 kilograms of Java jaggery-mahua, which is used in illicit liquor production. The team destroyed all the seized items on the spot.

The district administration and the Prohibition Department are continuously taking action against those involved in manufacturing, possessing, and selling illegal liquor. As part of this drive, the team targeted sensitive and inaccessible areas within the Maranga police station jurisdiction that are difficult to reach on foot. Officials stated that drone technology is being used to monitor these remote areas, which were previously beyond police reach. Intelligence gathering is also being utilized to keep an eye on the activities of liquor mafias.

Police officials affirmed that such campaigns will continue to be conducted to effectively implement the prohibition law in Bihar. This drone-assisted raid indicates that the administration is employing modern technologies to curb the illegal liquor trade.
