A 51-year-old man, Janardan Tiwari alias Bachcha Tiwari, was brutally murdered with a sharp weapon by unidentified assailants on Monday night in Dumra village, under Kargahar police station area of Rohtas district. Tiwari was a resident of Dumra village.

The incident came to light on Tuesday morning, causing widespread panic in the area. Enraged by the murder, villagers blocked the Dumra-Kargahar road with the body, disrupting traffic for approximately eight hours, from morning till evening. Upon receiving information, Station House Officer Ramchandra Chaupal arrived at the scene with police forces, but the villagers were unwilling to clear the road. Later, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Priya Rani also reached the spot. After extensive persuasion, the villagers finally lifted the blockade.

Following this, the police sent the body to Sasaram Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. According to family members, the criminals murdered Janardan Tiwari and dumped his body outside the village. A large crowd of villagers gathered after the body was discovered in the morning. A police dog squad has also been called for investigation. The motive behind the murder is still unclear, and the police are investigating the case from various angles.
