Saharsa Nagar Nigam has commenced preparations for the upcoming Chhath Puja and Diwali festivals. A tender process has been initiated for the cleaning and beautification of 95 Chhath ghats across the city. Municipal Commissioner Prabhat Kumar Jha stated that the tender covers all 95 Chhath ghats within the municipal corporation area, aiming for thorough cleaning and aesthetic improvements. The deadline for submitting tenders is October 30th. The corporation has collected details of Chhath ghats from all 46 ward councilors.

Commissioner Jha also informed that the tenders will be opened on October 31st. In addition to Chhath Puja, the Nagar Nigam is preparing a special cleaning drive for Diwali. City cleaning operations will now be conducted in three shifts (morning, afternoon, and evening) instead of the usual two, to ensure enhanced cleanliness. Furthermore, faulty streetlights in the city will be repaired before Diwali. The municipal corporation's objective is to provide a clean and organized environment for residents during both Chhath and Diwali, enabling them to celebrate these festivals with devotion and enthusiasm.
