A man identified as Jageshwar Mahto, a resident of Kapan village in Samastipur district, succumbed to his injuries five days after being involved in a road accident. The incident occurred near Pan Dukan Chowk at Manaray Toll within the Vibhutipur police station area.

Mahto was returning home from a Ramayana discourse when a speeding motorcycle, coming from the Khoksaha direction, hit him, leaving him critically injured. Local residents promptly informed the police and rushed the injured man to a community health center. After initial treatment, doctors referred him to Sadar Hospital. His family then admitted him to a private hospital for better treatment, where he was undergoing care for five days. He passed away on Thursday night during treatment.

The police have sent the body to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. The motorcycle involved in the accident has been seized, and the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. A crowd of local residents gathered at the deceased's home following the news.
