In a significant operation, the Excise Department team in Samastipur district's Ujiarpur police station area recovered 2610 liters of liquor hidden inside four Scorpio vehicles, which were themselves concealed within a container. The recovery was made during a night patrol near Shankar Chowk when the team grew suspicious of a parked container. The seized liquor, comprising five different brands, has an estimated market value of approximately 40 lakh rupees.

Excise Superintendent Manoj Kumar Singh informed the press on Thursday that the department's team was on night patrol when they spotted a container parked near Shankar Chowk in the Ujiarpur police station area. Upon suspicion, the team searched the container and found four Scorpio vehicles inside. A thorough search of these vehicles led to the discovery of liquor belonging to five different brands.

According to the Superintendent, the total quantity of recovered liquor is 2610 liters, with an estimated value of around 40 lakh rupees. Following the operation, the Excise Department team confiscated the liquor along with the container and all four Scorpio vehicles. All seized items have been brought to the police station. The unusual method of concealing liquor in four Scorpios within a container has prompted an investigation into the smuggling network. The origin and intended destination of the liquor consignment are yet to be determined. The Excise Department is conducting further investigations to gather information regarding the source and destination of the liquor, as well as other facts related to the smuggling network.
