A sand-laden truck attempted to run over Constable Brijesh Mani Tripathi in Kushinagar, severely crushing his left leg. The incident occurred around 2 AM on Wednesday night near Siarha village, Salimgarh, on the highway under Bahadurpur Police Post, Taraya Sujan Police Station area. Constable Brijesh Mani Tripathi, from the 2025 batch, had been posted at the Bahadurpur Police Post on the Bihar-Uttar Pradesh border just two months ago.

While on duty with his police team, Constable Brijesh signaled a red sand-laden truck coming from Bihar to stop. However, instead of stopping, the driver accelerated, attempting to flee. Constable Brijesh pursued the truck alone on his bike and tried to intercept it near Siarha village, at the eastern cut of the under-construction Salimgarh overbridge. It is alleged that the driver deliberately hit the constable's bike, causing Brijesh to fall onto the road. The driver then drove the truck over him, crushing his left leg. His bike was also completely damaged.

After the incident, the driver turned the truck at a highway cut and fled towards Bihar on the other lane. Upon receiving information, police from Bahadurpur Post and Taraya Sujan Police Station rushed to the scene. The critically injured constable was immediately taken to a private hospital in Gorakhpur, where he is currently undergoing treatment. CO Tamkuhi Raj Jayant Yadav and SHO Nitin Raghunath also arrived at the incident site. The police team swiftly pursued and apprehended the runaway sand-laden truck and its driver on the Bathnakutti Highway in Bihar. The CO stated that serious action is being taken in the matter.
