A 21-year-old BBA student was shot in the head at a party organized after Durga Puja in Brahimpur Gopi Mahuari Tola village, Mashrak police station area, Saran district. The student, identified as Priyanshu Kumar Singh alias Syntu, son of Sanjeev Kumar Singh, was critically injured. Priyanshu, who studies BBA in Patna, had returned to his village for the Durga Puja holidays.

According to his family, some local boys invited him to a party after the puja concluded. Later that night, they received news that he had been shot in the head. Critically injured, Priyanshu was first taken to Siwan Sadar Hospital. After initial treatment, doctors referred him to Gorakhpur for better medical care, where his condition remains serious.

Priyanshu's uncle, Roshan Kumar, stated that doctors at Siwan Sadar Hospital referred him to Gorakhpur due to the severity of his head injury. During treatment, the injured student reportedly named 'Viku' as the assailant, and his family recorded a video of this statement. However, the police are investigating the motive behind the shooting and the role of the named individual.

Upon receiving information about the incident, SP Rural Sanjay Kumar and DSP Sanjay Kumar Sudhanshu arrived at the scene with police forces. DSP Sudhanshu mentioned that the exact location of the shooting has not yet been determined. As the case is linked to the border area between Saran and Siwan districts, police from both districts are investigating. Authorities are working to ascertain the reasons behind the firing and identify those involved.
