Sheikhpura Court Resumes Operations After Dussehra Break, Hearings Begin for Pending Cases
After a long Dussehra holiday, operations at the Sheikhpura Civil Court resumed on Monday according to the scheduled timetable. The court premises and the Bar Association building witnessed significant movement of people, bringing back the usual hustle and bustle to the campus that had been quiet during the break. With the court reopening, hearings for pending criminal and civil cases have also commenced.
The court had been closed from October 16 to October 25 for the Dussehra festival. During this period, regular judicial work was suspended in almost all courts, although a vacation judge was designated to hear extremely urgent matters. On Monday, after the resumption of judicial work, lawyers and judges met each other, discussed their time during the Dussehra festival, and exchanged pleasantries.
Following the reopening of the court, hearings began for pending criminal and civil cases, including bail applications for accused individuals lodged in jail. Regular hearings for civil cases had been completely suspended during the Dussehra holiday. The resumption of court operations has brought relief to litigants and advocates involved in pending cases.
Considering the upcoming festive season, holidays have also been scheduled for Diwali and Chhath festivals. According to information, the court will remain closed from November 8 to November 16. During this period, regular hearings for criminal and civil cases are likely to be suspended, meaning many cases will only be heard after the Chhath festival.
