Shri Krishna Chhathi, marking the sixth day after Janmashtami, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion in Sherghati town, Gaya district, on Wednesday. Special prayers, offerings, and distribution of prasad took place in various temples across the city.

From early morning, temples witnessed a large influx of devotees, a trend that continued until late evening. The celebrations were held at several prominent locations, including Ek Shiwala Mandir, Teen Shiwala Mandir, Urdu Mohalla Thakurbari, Gayatri Mandir, and Rukmini Nath Mandir. All these temples were beautifully decorated, creating a vibrant atmosphere of devotion. Devotees offered prayers to Lord Shri Krishna, seeking prosperity and well-being for their families. Following the prayers, prasad was distributed among the attendees.

Priest Shashibhushan Mishra alias Anuj Mishra of Urdu Mohalla Thakurbari stated that 56 types of offerings are specially prepared for Shri Krishna Chhathi. After being offered to Lord Krishna, these bhogs are distributed as prasad to the devotees. He also mentioned that a large number of devotees come to receive prasad on Chhathi. Sanjay Prasad Verma, President of the Teen Shiwala Mandir Committee, informed that the festival is celebrated with immense joy and devotion every year. Devotees from Sherghati town and surrounding rural areas participate in large numbers. The continuous flow of devotees at the temples until late evening fostered an atmosphere of devotion and religious fervor throughout the city.
