पुलिस को लगातार शिकायतें मिल रही थीं कि इस क्षेत्र में अवैध शराब का निर्माण और बिक्री बड़े पैमाने पर हो रही है, जिससे सामाजिक शांति भंग हो रही थी और युवाओं में नशे की लत बढ़ रही थी। इन शिकायतों पर संज्ञान लेते हुए वरीय अधिकारियों के निर्देश पर यह विशेष अभियान चलाया गया।
छापेमारी दल ने महादलित टोला के विभिन्न ठिकानों पर तलाशी ली और कई स्थानों से महुआ पास बनाने में इस्तेमाल होने वाले उपकरण और कच्चा माल भी बरामद किया। पुलिस का कहना है कि इस तरह की कार्रवाई से अवैध शराब के कारोबार पर अंकुश लगाने में मदद मिलेगी। पुलिस ने स्थानीय लोगों से भी अपील की है कि वे अवैध शराब के खिलाफ लड़ाई में पुलिस का सहयोग करें और ऐसी किसी भी गतिविधि की सूचना तुरंत दें।
