A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Ward No. 8 of Dalkawa village, under the Sonbarsa police station area of Sitamarhi district. A 9-year-old girl, Manokamna Kumari, daughter of Vinodi Rai, drowned while bathing in the Sherha pond. The news of this heartbreaking incident plunged the victim's home into chaos and spread grief throughout the village.

According to information received, Manokamna had gone to bathe in Sherha pond on Wednesday evening with other children from the village. While bathing, she unknowingly ventured into deep water and began to drown. When the other children raised an alarm, villagers rushed to the spot and, after much effort, pulled her out of the water. However, it was too late, and she had already passed away.

Manokamna was the fourth among six sisters and one brother. Her parents and other family members are inconsolable after the sudden and untimely death of their innocent daughter. The continuous cries and heart-wrenching wails of her mother, Shiv Dulari Devi, moved everyone present to tears. The administration and local residents have offered solace to the grieving family in this difficult time.
