A tragic road accident in Sitamarhi district resulted in the on-the-spot death of one youth and left another seriously injured. The incident occurred on Sunday near Khairwa village within the Dumra police station area, where a speeding tractor crushed a motorcycle. The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Ravi Kumar, a resident of Khairwa village. The injured youth, Gaurav Kumar, is also from the same village.

According to eyewitnesses, Ravi and Gaurav were riding their motorcycle when an uncontrolled tractor, coming from behind, collided with them. The impact was so severe that Ravi succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Gaurav sustained critical injuries and was immediately taken to a local hospital. After initial treatment, he was referred to Sitamarhi Sadar Hospital for better medical care, and his condition remains critical.

Following the accident, the tractor driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Enraged by this tragic incident, local villagers and family members blocked the Dumra-Belsand main road near Khairwa Chowk. They demanded compensation and strict action against those responsible. The road blockade caused long queues of vehicles on both sides, completely disrupting traffic.

Upon receiving information, Dumra police reached the spot and tried to pacify the crowd. The police assured the villagers of appropriate action, after which the blockade was lifted approximately two hours later. The police have taken custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination to Sitamarhi Sadar Hospital. The tractor has been seized, and raids are being conducted to apprehend the driver. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the entire area.
