A police team conducting a raid on ganja smugglers in Dohra village, under Riga police station in Sitamarhi, was attacked. Three police personnel, including Additional Station House Officer Riya Kumari and Assistant Sub-Inspector Santosh Kumar, were injured in the assault. The incident occurred late Sunday night when the police received information about ganja smuggling in Ward No. 15 of Dohra village.

Sadar Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rajiv Kumar Singh, confirmed the incident, stating that the injured officers are undergoing treatment. In a retaliatory action, the police arrested eight attackers from the spot, and raids are ongoing to apprehend others involved. The police team had recovered approximately 400 grams of ganja from a hut in Dohra market. However, the smugglers managed to escape under the cover of darkness. During the operation, Uttam Kumar, son of village Sarpanch Bhola Singh of Dohra village, was identified.

The police also learned that Sarpanch Bhola Singh was involved in ganja trade from his residence. Following the market raid, the police team proceeded to Bhola Singh's house, where Bhola Singh, Priyanshu Kumar, Anjani Singh, Chholu Singh, Rohit Sahni, and other unidentified individuals attacked the police team. During a search of Bhola Singh's house, about 700 grams of ganja and several sharp weapons were recovered. Sadar SCPO Rajiv Kumar Singh stated that the attack on the police team is a serious matter, and no culprit will be spared. Actions are being taken to register an FIR against them.
