A tragic accident occurred in Sitamarhi due to a road collapse, resulting in the death of a biscuit factory worker. The incident took place on the Riga-Pupri main road, within the Riga police station area of the district. According to available information, a pile of soil was present on a section of the road. Due to the road collapsing, an auto-rickshaw lost control and overturned onto this soil pile.

In this accident, a biscuit factory worker, who was a passenger in the auto, died on the spot. Other passengers sustained injuries. The identity of the deceased has not yet been established. The injured were immediately rushed to a local hospital for treatment, where some are reported to be in serious condition.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Riga police reached the spot, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. The police have also seized the damaged auto and have commenced an investigation into the matter. Preliminary investigations suggest that negligence during road construction or repair work may have led to the road section collapsing, causing this accident.
