Avinash Kumar, a youth from Bishanpur village in Sitamarhi district, who was shot near a monastery in Bathnaha on Thursday, succumbed to his injuries on Friday while undergoing treatment in Muzaffarpur. The death of Avinash Kumar, son of Gagan Das, has caused a stir in the area. The incident is suspected to be a result of old enmity.

The victim's sister, in a statement to the media, has expressed suspicion that a local villager orchestrated the murder due to a long-standing feud. After committing the crime, the assailants fled, leaving their Apache motorcycle at the scene, which was subsequently seized by SHO Rupesh Kumar under the instructions of Additional SP Ashish Anand.

According to police sources, a few years ago, a villager was critically injured in a shooting incident. Avinash was incarcerated for approximately three years in connection with that case and was released about six months ago. Given this history, the police are considering old enmity as the primary motive for the current incident, though official confirmation is pending.

SHO Rupesh Kumar stated that the victim's father and brother are currently away from home but have been contacted. Further legal action will be taken based on their formal complaint once they return.
