A 22-year-old youth, Sudhir Kumar, was brutally stabbed to death during Durga Puja idol immersion in Madhuban Bazar, under Bajpatti police station area in Sitamarhi district. The incident occurred when Sudhir Kumar, son of Naresh Rai and a resident of Sandwara village, was participating in the immersion procession. Unidentified assailants suddenly attacked him with a knife, leading to his on-the-spot demise.

The tragic incident has created a highly tense atmosphere in the entire region. As news of the youth's murder spread, residents of Sandwara village and Madhuban Bazar became enraged. They demanded immediate arrest and stringent punishment for the murderers and blocked roads in Madhuban Bazar, completely disrupting traffic.

Upon receiving information, Bajpatti police force immediately reached the spot and attempted to control the situation. Police officials tried to pacify the agitated villagers, assuring them that the culprits would be identified, arrested, and stern action would be taken against them without delay.

Currently, police forces have been deployed in the area to maintain peace and order. The police are continuously monitoring the situation closely, and additional forces are present to uphold law and order. The police administration is making every possible effort to restore peace.
