Police have made a significant breakthrough in the shooting of teacher Kishore Giri in Siwan district's Asaon police station area, arresting the main wanted accused. Based on the interrogation of the arrested suspect, police are gathering information about other individuals involved in the incident and the weapon used in the crime. Raids are continuously being conducted to apprehend the absconding suspects.

The incident occurred on September 30, 2026, near the Upgraded Middle School in Shivri village. Kishore Giri, 45, husband of a former block chief from Andar block and a teacher, was shot. It is reported that Giri arrived at the location after receiving information about a young man and woman present in a room near the school. While he was questioning the youths present, one of them allegedly pulled out a pistol and fired at him. The bullet struck Kishore Giri behind his ear, leaving him seriously injured. He was immediately taken to Andar PHC, and due to his critical condition, was referred to Siwan Sadar Hospital. After initial treatment at Sadar Hospital, he was further referred to Patna for better medical care.

Following the incident, the perpetrators fled the scene. Upon receiving information, Asaon police promptly arrived and initiated an investigation. A pistol casing was recovered from the crime scene, and an FSL team was called to collect evidence. Utilizing technical investigation and intelligence, the police began identifying the suspects. Under the leadership of Station House Officer Santosh Kumar, the police team conducted raids and apprehended the main wanted accused. Police are now gathering information about the roles of other suspects and the weapon involved. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
