An iPhone belonging to a devotee was stolen from Ajgaibinath Ghat in Sultanganj, Bhagalpur, while the individual was bathing in the Ganga river. The incident occurred when the devotee had placed their mobile phone on the ghat. This theft has caused concern among other devotees, especially during the auspicious month of Sawan, which sees a large influx of Kanwariyas and pilgrims.

According to reports, the victim had arrived at Ajgaibinath Ghat for a religious pilgrimage. While taking a holy dip in the Ganga, they had kept their expensive iPhone in a seemingly safe spot. However, upon returning after their bath, they discovered their phone missing. After an unsuccessful search, the devotee promptly reported the incident to the local police.

The police have taken the matter seriously and initiated an investigation. They are currently reviewing footage from CCTV cameras installed at the ghat in an effort to identify the thief. Authorities have also urged devotees to be extra vigilant with their valuables while bathing at the ghat and to avoid leaving them unattended. Incidents of theft often increase during the crowded Sawan month as opportunistic gangs become active.
