A 22-year-old youth's body was found in the courtyard of a house in Ward No. 8 of Simrahi Nagar Panchayat, under Raghopur police station in Supaul district, on Saturday, causing a stir in the area. The deceased has been identified as Neeraj Kumar Marik, son of Phuleshwar Marik, a resident of Ward No. 13. Neeraj worked as a laborer in people's homes.

Family members suspect electrocution as the cause of death, although the exact reason for the incident is yet to be confirmed. According to the family, the homeowner had called Neeraj for work. It is suspected that he was electrocuted during this time. His body was found in the courtyard on Saturday morning, with a motor lying near it. Police are investigating the cause of death.

The absence of the homeowner at the scene after the incident has raised questions and sparked various discussions among locals. The reason for the homeowner's absence is unclear. The family has demanded an impartial investigation and appropriate compensation. A crowd gathered at the scene upon hearing about the discovery of the body. Upon receiving information, Raghopur Station House Officer (SHO) Amit Kumar Rai arrived at the spot with police forces. He gathered information from the family and locals and calmed down the agitated relatives. The police then took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination to Sadar Hospital, Supaul. SHO Amit Kumar Rai stated that the police reached the spot immediately after receiving information and are conducting the necessary investigation. Further legal action will be taken upon receiving an application from the family.
