Several wards in the Tarapur Nagar Panchayat area of Munger district have been severely waterlogged due to incessant heavy rainfall, causing significant distress to the local residents. The continuous downpour has led to widespread water accumulation in various parts of the Nagar Panchayat, disrupting daily life.

According to reports, low-lying areas of the Nagar Panchayat are submerged. Homes and shops have been inundated, leading to considerable losses for the residents. Roads are submerged, hindering transportation. School children and daily wage laborers are facing difficulties commuting. In many places, water has risen to knee-level, making even walking a challenge.

Local residents state that this situation recurs every year during the monsoon season due to inadequate drainage systems. They have repeatedly urged the administration to address this issue, but no concrete steps have been taken so far. There is deep resentment among the people towards the administration, who warn that if drainage systems are not improved soon, the situation could worsen.

The waterlogging also poses a risk of disease outbreaks, as stagnant dirty water accumulates in homes and streets. There is a heightened concern about the proliferation of mosquitoes and other waterborne diseases. Residents have appealed to the Nagar Panchayat to immediately arrange for water drainage and initiate relief efforts in the affected areas. They also demand long-term plans to prevent such situations in the future.
