Preparations for the expansion of Valmikinagar Airport's runway have accelerated, with a team from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) recently conducting a site inspection. The primary objective of this visit was to assess the land requirements and technical aspects for the proposed runway extension. This project, once completed, is expected to significantly enhance the airport's capacity, enabling the operation of larger aircraft and improving air connectivity in the region.

The AAI team also surveyed areas surrounding the airport where additional land acquisition might be necessary for the expansion. They held discussions with local authorities, addressing various phases of the project. This expansion is anticipated to boost tourism and strengthen the local economy by fostering increased trade and investment opportunities through improved air links.

Valmikinagar, renowned for its Tiger Reserve and natural beauty, stands to gain considerably from this airport upgrade. Stakeholders in the tourism industry believe that the expanded airport will lead to a surge in tourist arrivals, thereby creating new employment opportunities in the area. This project is a crucial component of the Bihar government's infrastructure development plans, aiming to enhance transportation facilities across the state. Moving forward, the AAI team will submit its report to the government, following which a Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be prepared, paving the way for the commencement of work.
