On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, a grand Ravana Dahan (burning of Ravana effigy) program was organized at the Kargil Chowk Durga Temple complex in Veerpur, Supaul district. This year, a 50-foot tall effigy of Ravana was set ablaze, attracting a large number of devotees and spectators from far and wide.

Deepak Sah, a former independent MLA candidate from the Chhatapur assembly constituency, lit the effigy. This tradition of Ravana Dahan at Kargil Chowk Durga Temple has been ongoing since 2019, making the Vijayadashami festival even more special each year. During Navratri, the pandals and idols of Maa Durga installed here also remained a center of attraction for devotees.

Lal Mohan Rastogi, president of the temple committee, stated that this event is celebrated specially every year. Through the burning of Ravana, a message was conveyed to people to abandon ego, injustice, and evil and follow the path of truth. The program created an atmosphere of devotion and enthusiasm in the region.
