A tragic road accident in the Barachatti police station area of Gaya district resulted in the spot death of a woman. The incident occurred on Friday evening around 4 PM on NH-19 near Sobh Bazar. The deceased has been identified as Usha Devi (approximately 60 years old), wife of Kamdev Singh, a resident of Hahesari village in the Dhungai police station area.

According to reports, Usha Devi was returning home from her maternal home with her son after celebrating the Raksha Bandhan festival. While crossing the GT Road (NH-19) near Sobh Bazar, a fast-moving unknown vehicle struck her. Usha Devi succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the accident. Fortunately, her son, who was with her, remained safe. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Upon receiving information about the accident, Barachatti police promptly arrived at the spot and initiated an investigation. Barachatti Station House Officer cum Inspector Amarendra Kishore stated that the police have taken possession of the body and have begun further proceedings. The police are actively trying to identify the vehicle involved in the accident using CCTV footage and other available resources.
