A woman named Pushpa jumped into the Ganga river on Saturday evening at Fakkad Mahto Ghat in Nasariganj, Danapur, Patna. This ghat is located on the border of Danapur and Digha police station areas. The woman left her mobile phone, purse, and slippers on the ghat before jumping into the river, causing a commotion among the people present.

Eyewitnesses at the ghat took possession of the woman's mobile phone and attempted to contact her family members using the saved numbers. Upon receiving the information, the police promptly arrived at the scene. The police recovered the woman's belongings from the ghat and summoned her family. When the family members arrived, it was confirmed that the woman had indeed jumped into the river.

Following this, Nasariganj OP in-charge Sumit Kumar Ranjan took the family members to Nasariganj OP for questioning. During the interrogation, it was revealed that the incident falls under the jurisdiction of Digha police station. Digha police were immediately informed, and the family members were handed over to them. The SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) has been notified to search for the woman, and preparations are underway to launch a rescue operation in the river. A large crowd gathered at the ghat after the incident.
