A youth drowned and went missing in the Yamuna River near Sonpur Temple in the Belaganj police station area of Gaya district on Tuesday. He was among five friends who had gone to bathe in the river. Local divers attempted to find the youth after the incident but were unsuccessful. Belaganj SHO Sunil Kumar Dwivedi arrived at the scene with his police team and informed the SDRF. An SDRF team has reached the spot and has commenced a search operation for the missing youth. As of Tuesday afternoon, the youth had not been found.

According to information, the five friends were bathing in the river when Amar Kumar went into deep water. In an attempt to save him, 19-year-old Chandan Kumar, son of Ram Pravesh Yadav, also went into deep water and disappeared. The other four friends managed to get out safely. Upon receiving news of the incident, many villagers and local residents gathered along the riverbank. The family of the missing youth is in distress. The SDRF team is continuously searching for him.
