A robbery and shooting incident has been reported in Munger district, where two youths were returning from a Durga Puja cultural program. Criminals shot one of the youths when he resisted the robbery, leaving him seriously injured. The injured youth has been referred to Patna PMCH for better treatment.

According to information, 24-year-old Vimal Kushwaha, a resident of Kalyanpur village under Salemur Panchayat of Amarpur police station area, had gone to watch a cultural program in Kalyanpur village, Munger, on Sunday evening with his friend Deepak Kumar (26). After the program, both were returning to their village on a bike. During this, about half a dozen criminals stopped their bike on the State Highway going from Munger to Mirzachauki.

It is alleged that the assailants assaulted both youths and snatched six thousand rupees in cash from Vimal and both their mobile phones. When Vimal resisted the robbery, the criminals shot him with a pistol. The bullet hit Vimal's shoulder, causing him to fall unconscious on the road. The attackers fled the scene firing shots.

After the incident, with the help of local people, injured Vimal was first taken to Sultanganj Hospital for treatment. After primary treatment there, due to his serious condition, he was referred to Mayaganj Hospital, Bhagalpur. As his condition remained critical at Mayaganj Hospital, doctors sent him to PMCH, Patna, for better treatment. According to family members, the bullet is lodged in the youth's chest, and his condition remains serious. Police are investigating the matter.
