A heartbreaking case has emerged from the Sabalpur Diara area in Sonpur, Saran district, Bihar, where an 18-month-old child, Lav-Kush, suffers from a condition that has caused his head to swell to an estimated 10 kilograms. According to the child's father, Subhash Kumar, a daily wage laborer, Lav-Kush was born healthy in 2025, but his condition deteriorated just seven days after birth.

The family initially sought treatment from local doctors. When no relief was found, they traveled to major hospitals in Patna, including PMCH, IGIMS, and AIIMS Patna. They also consulted doctors at Tripolia Hospital and several private clinics. However, despite their efforts, they allege that they have yet to receive a clear diagnosis or satisfactory treatment for their son's condition.

Subhash Kumar explained that the continuous hospital visits, diagnostic tests, and medication costs have depleted their entire savings. Living in a flood-prone diara region, natural calamities like floods and crop damage have further worsened their financial situation. The family now has no funds left for their child's ongoing treatment.

In desperation, Subhash Kumar has appealed to the Bihar government, the health department, and the district administration for assistance. He has requested that the authorities take cognizance of the matter, form a medical board of specialists to examine his son, and provide financial aid to ensure proper treatment. This case highlights the challenges within Bihar's healthcare system and the plight of impoverished families.
