Despite the prohibition in Bihar, the illegal liquor trade continues to flourish. In a significant crackdown, the police have arrested 22 individuals accused of manufacturing, selling, and smuggling illicit liquor. A substantial quantity of illegal alcohol, totaling 180 liters of various brands of country-made liquor, was also seized from them.

This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the police to effectively enforce the liquor ban in the state. Authorities are continuously targeting individuals involved in violating the law through illegal liquor activities. The arrests reportedly took place during special drives conducted across various police station areas. According to police sources, some of the arrested individuals have been actively involved in this illicit business for a long time.

The police have stated that cases have been registered against the accused under relevant sections, and further legal action is underway. The process of destroying the seized liquor has also commenced.
