In a recent community meeting held in a village within Gaunaha block, Bettiah, 22 women returned Bibles, reaffirming their faith in their original religion. Attendees at the meeting also resolved not to convert their religion in the future. The gathering was convened by village intellectuals and local residents to address growing concerns regarding alleged religious conversions in the area.

Following the meeting, 13 women voluntarily submitted the Bibles they possessed. Jackie Kumar, associated with the Hindu Utthan Sangh, stated that the collected Bibles have been sent to Rampurwa Mission. He claimed that all the women expressed a desire to return to their original faith of their own free will. The remaining 9 women did not have Bibles.

During the discussions, there was an extensive deliberation on the rights and government benefits associated with Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes after religious conversion. Those present emphasized that individuals involved in religious conversion should be well-informed about their constitutional rights and legal status. Some participants suggested that instead of socially isolating converts, it is more crucial to understand the situation through awareness and dialogue. Local residents also reiterated that there should be no pressure or coercion in religious matters, and every individual should have the right to make independent decisions according to their beliefs.

Prominent figures present at the meeting included Dheeraj Giri, President of Hindu Utthan Sangh, Gumasta Baliram Mukhiya, Purushottam Kumar, Chandeshwar Mahto, Shyam Bihari Kumar, Jackie Kumar, Dharmendra Mahto, Kundan Gauro, Dharmveer Mukhiya, Munnu Kumar, Brundavan Kumar, Shivgovind Kumar, Shyamnarayan Mahto, Rajkaran Chaudhary, Rinki Devi, Bhagmati Devi, Priyanka Devi, and Nandini Devi, among others.
