68 Tribal Families Get New Homes During Navratri in Pirpainty, Bhagalpur
During Navratri, 68 families from the Santhal and Paharia tribal communities in Pirpainty, Bhagalpur district, received keys to their new homes. These residences were constructed under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of the Pirpainty Power Plant. A collective housewarming ceremony saw 68 tribal families handed the keys to their newly built homes. BJP MLA Murari Paswan, present at the event, stated that no one was displaced; instead, they were provided with better housing and facilities than before. The joy was evident on the faces of the beneficiary families as they entered their new residences.
For a long time, families from the Santhal and Paharia communities living around the Pirpainty Power Plant complex faced challenges in securing permanent housing. To provide these families with better and safer accommodation, the state government provided land. Subsequently, Adani Foundation, under the CSR initiative of Adani Power Plant, took on the responsibility of constructing these homes. MLA Murari Paswan explained that the families were relocated approximately 500 meters away to a new site where beautiful and modern homes were made available to them. He emphasized that this should be viewed as an improved housing arrangement rather than a displacement.
The collective housewarming ceremony was attended by Pirpainty MLA Murari Paswan, along with district administration officials including SDM Rakesh Ranjan and Circle Officer Chandrashekhar Kumar. Representatives from Adani Power Plant, including Rajiv Goyal, Krishna, and Abhimanyu, also participated in the event. A large number of beneficiary family members were present. MLA Murari Paswan further informed that housing is yet to be provided to a few more families, and efforts will be made to soon provide homes to the remaining three to four families.
