Around 20,000 electricity consumers connected to the Agrauli feeder in Araria district are currently enduring severe power cuts, primarily at night, amidst a spell of intense heat. Villagers report receiving minimal electricity during the day, with complete outages occurring as night falls. This situation has caused immense distress, particularly for children and the elderly, who find it nearly impossible to sleep due to the heat and humidity.

The Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of the electricity department has attributed the problem to severe overloading of the Agrauli feeder. He explained that the feeder is serving a significantly higher number of consumers than its designed capacity, leading to frequent disruptions in power supply. The SDO stated that a proposal for the construction of a new feeder has been submitted to address this issue. He expressed hope that once the new feeder becomes operational, the power supply will stabilize, bringing much-needed relief to the consumers.

Residents complain that despite timely payment of their electricity bills, they are not receiving adequate service. They urge immediate attention from authorities to find a permanent solution. Local public representatives have also been called upon to intervene and alleviate the suffering of the villagers. The power cuts are not only affecting households but also negatively impacting small businesses in the area.
