Five people, including a woman, were injured in a monkey attack on Wednesday morning in Dubauni village, under Bishanpur Panchayat in Amarpur block. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear in the village and surrounding areas. All the injured were taken to Banka Sadar Hospital for primary treatment.

The injured have been identified as Sanjay Mandal, Ahilya Devi, Mahendra Mandal, Nisha Kumari, and Rita Devi. Sanjay Mandal recounted that he was sitting near his house in the morning when the aggressive monkey suddenly attacked him. His cries for help drew other villagers, but by then the monkey had also attacked and injured others.

Upon receiving news of the incident, Bishanpur Panchayat chief Ashutosh Singh and Panchayat Samiti member Neetu Singh visited Dubauni village. They met with the injured, inquired about their well-being, and informed the forest department about the incident, demanding the immediate rescue of the aggressive monkey. They also called for ensuring the safety of the villagers, stating that residents of Dubauni village and neighboring areas are terrified due to the continuous monkey attacks. Villagers have urged the forest department to take swift action to capture the monkey and prevent any further untoward incidents.
