Patna: Vote counting for 8 seats in the Bihar Legislative Council elections is underway. However, Mokama MLA Anant Singh is so confident about the victory of his supported candidate Anuj Singh from the Patna Graduates' Constituency that celebrations have already begun at his residence. A grand feast of sweets is being held, with lakhs of pieces of rasgulla, kala jamun, and gulab jamun prepared for the occasion.

Supporters and voters are arriving in large numbers at Anant Singh's residence, enjoying the sweets. The MLA has given clear instructions that no one should be stopped and as many sweets as they wish should be served. Supporters are highly enthusiastic about 'Chhote Sarkar' (Anant Singh)'s victory and believe that Anuj Singh will win by a large margin, while JDU candidate Neeraj Kumar will face a crushing defeat. They are so confident that celebrations have commenced even before the final vote count.

The contest in the Patna Graduates' Constituency is intriguing. JDU has re-nominated incumbent MLC Neeraj Kumar, while RJD has fielded Dilip Kumar, and Jan Suraj Party has nominated Anuj Singh. Anant Singh has a long-standing rivalry with Neeraj Kumar, which led him to openly support Anuj Singh despite objections from his party leadership. He has also claimed that Neeraj Kumar will forfeit his deposit.

Notably, the day after polling, JDU had expelled Anant Singh and his wife Neelam Devi for 6 years on charges of anti-party activities. Additionally, state president Umesh Kushwaha had written to Speaker Prem Kumar to get Anant Singh's assembly membership revoked.
